Q: I just bought a domain name from ComCown. How long will it be before the transfer is complete and I have access to my domain name?
A: Once we receive confirmation of payment, we will immediately unlock the domain name and forward to you the Authorization Code via e-mail, unless you have another preference of communication. The Authorization Code is a unique number-letter identifier that entitles you to take control of the domain name. As soon as you receive from us the Authorization Code, you should immediately provide it to your registrar/host, advise them you have purchased the domain name associated with the Authorization Code and advise them to begin the transfer request. Remember, it is your registrar/host who initiates the transfer request by communication with our registrar/host, so the sooner you provide your registrar/host with the Authorization Code, the sooner your registrar/host can initiate the transfer request. Procedure styles may differ slightly depending on your registrar/host, and ComCrown will be at the ready to proactively accommodate any additional protocols your particular registrar/host may have, or any requests that you, the buyer may have, including making a free telephone call or initiating other communications to your registrar/host to answer any questions they may have, however, normally, it has been our experience that the transfer process is quite seamless and transparent without additional effort required once your registrar/host has obtained the Authorization Code and has initiated the transfer request.
Q: Does my registrar need to be properly accredited?
A: Yes. Your registrar may be located within the United States or any other country, however, your registrar must be both accredited and qualified to engage in the transfer process. If you have any concerns as to whether your existing registrar is properly accredited, we suggest you contact them directly for confirmation.
